As things wind down here in San Jose, you can still find plenty of evidence that the fabric technology discussed in the current issue of EDN has become commonplace in the embedded industry. A good example is the new 6U CompactPCI Express (CPCIe) processor board announced here by One Stop Systems. The board offers two PCI Express x8 links and four x4 links to the backplane while providing Core Duo performance. A rear transition module provides two gigabit Ethernet ports and two USB ports in addition to the one of each on the main board. The rear module also supports a CompactFlash module and/or a 2-1/2” SATA hard drive using the hard drive mezzanine card. The main board provides a video port to the on-board ATI Rage Mobility graphics controller plus one PMC site and one XMC site. The CPCIe is shipping now for around $3,995, depending on the configuration.
